There are no words. The atmosphere is 10 points, and the attention from both the waiter and the sommelier is amazing. 👌🏾 A unique experience, by far!
First and foremost, the service is excellent from every angle. The food has some highlights and others not so much (Argentina Menu). They serve softened tap water, and it's noticeable, since the water in Mendoza is not of the highest quality. However, they replaced it with bottled water (brought from Italy). Not only do we have the best wine cellar in the world, but the water too. There's no need to serve imported water if we want to highlight Argentina as a whole. A highly recommended experience. The Michelin star, half of it, should be for the overall service.
Buckle up! A sensational experience. Worth every peso (it's expensive). 6-course menu. We started with a two-piece snack, one crunchy and one psychedelic. Then, a fresh tomato dressed for the occasion, prepared with garlic in different versions. Then, a mushroom festival. Fourth, an exquisite goat roll covered in two chimichurris (if there was a bucket with 20 pieces, I'd eat them too), and fifth, a perfectly cooked piece of meat accompanied by the house's version of kimchi. I'd stay two seconds for that concoction. Spicy, crunchy, tasty, perfect, eaten by the spoonful. At one point, we got a blue cheese chipa... wow! And the finale was crowned with a chocotorta with ice cream and, once again, a little bit of garlic. A separate note for the service. We ordered a wine we didn't like, and they didn't hesitate to offer us an alternative (even though there was no problem with the wine and it was just a bad choice). Highly recommended. It's worth it. I feel like I've given my palate a truly unique experience. Kudos to the chef and the entire staff.
I had the opportunity to enjoy the 6-course menu at Azafrán Resto, and it was, without a doubt, an exceptional experience. Each dish celebrates the best of Mendoza cuisine with a contemporary approach and excellent technique. The most memorable moment was the rib-eye steak, cooked to perfection, accompanied by a reworked Russian salad that surprised with its elegance and flavor. A combination that elevates traditional ingredients to a truly gourmet level. The atmosphere is elegant yet cozy, ideal for a special dinner. The service was worthy of a Michelin star: Mariana, our waitress, provided warm and attentive service throughout, and the sommelier knew how to pair each dish with an impeccable pairing, highlighting local labels that enhanced the experience.Highly recommended for those looking to discover Mendoza's culinary identity at its finest.
We were really eager to try Azafran, but it became one of the worst experiences for us ( 4 ) dining ever, simply a sad remainder that Michelin is not any longer up to the task , and that some restaurants just care about money and they dont care about quality of food, or service. The Corn dish was freezing cold, the Lamb was plain cold ( 4 dishes ), and we decided stop and to not to continue dining, they only thing they did, was to remember us their rank and their Michelin star, telling us that this things dont usually happend. (they did not offer us to change courses, even acknowledging the food was not right). we decided politely to stop dinning, and they were ok just like that, , cashing out without any regret 1100 K USD without even delivering a proper meal, an absolute disaster and embarrassment to any kitchen, I would be very very sad if I were the restaurant owner. buy ey! the money keeps coming .. why to bother with the quality of the meal and service... :(. if you plan to go to this restaurant, I would be very cautious, please check that the bad reviews keep coming from the last months to this date .... and check the answers to the reviews, uff...
