The food is not good, everything was missing salt, they served it to me cold

The restaurant and its bathrooms look old and dirty. They pressure you to leave early, the staff gives you dirty looks, and for the price, there are plenty of other options in the area with better service, quality food, and ambiance, especially when people come from out of town to explore Guadalajara. As another comment, the bathrooms look like they belong in an old gas station.

The Abajeño has gone downhill. What a shame about the service! The waiters. If it's not "their table," even if you ask for a glass of water 10 times, they won't bring it to you! The waiter's attitude in the photo (I'm facing him, but it's better to keep his privacy) is the worst! He shouldn't work there or in any hospitality department!

The bad thing is that I never received my bill.

Definitely one of the worst restaurants in Guadalajara, if not the worst, and not because of the service, which is actually good. It's not excellent either, but it's what you'd expect anywhere. There's no defect there. What makes it bad is the food; simply put, "it's bad." If you're looking for Mexican snacks or traditional food, it's better to go to a market, a diner, or a restaurant. You'll find much better flavor at a better price. However, if you're looking for something a little more premium that includes the whole Mexican experience of cazuelas, mariachi, etc., there are definitely better options in this city. If you're from Guadalajara and you bring your foreign guests here, you're in trouble. And if you're not from here and want that Mexican atmosphere, save yourself the gastritis and go somewhere else; you might find some very nice options.
