I tried the 4 course lunch menu at 9 patrias and it was a truly exceptional culinary experience, presenting culinary heritage from different regions of Honduras in a modern form. Beyond food, it’s a wonderful project run by students of the escuela de Gastronomía who get a chance at cooking and serving to real customers. All the dishes had impeccable visual presentation and were absolutely delightful!This isn't just a restaurant where you go to eat and then leave; it's much more than that. It's an enriching experience from which you leave both edified and satisfied. The concept itself deserves recognition: it's essentially a cooking school, and this restaurant functions as its practice space. That speaks volumes about the quality of the training they provide.The menu varies according to the season and the products available at the time. The idea is to showcase the cuisine of each department of Honduras through a dish featuring ingredients from that department,
hence the name "9 Patrias."The atmosphere is ideal for relaxing, chatting, and enjoying the dishes carefully prepared by the chefs-in-training. The service is excellent, especially considering they are students: they are attentive, explain each dish clearly and interestingly, and pay close attention to each customer. They are happy to answer any questions, which makes the experience even more enriching. And not to mention the quality of the food: simply delicious. In addition, there is a wide variety of cocktails, mocktails, whiskey, rum, gin, and wines to accompany this culinary adventure, full of nuances and discoveries.I enthusiastically recommend this place, not only to support and encourage these passionate students, but also to take a tour of Honduran gastronomy in a single evening, with valuable explanations at every stage of the journey.Amazing experience trying a unique, elevated take on authentic Honduran dishes. Everything from the presentation, service, and ambiance was great. Totally recommend!Just wow! This unique, elevated, and creative menu does not just deliver an incredible tasting experience, it also maintains a distinctive authenticity to Honduran cuisine and culinary tradition. Often, restaurants elevating underrepresented cuisines overly rely on French or British cooking styles and methodologies. 9 Patrias, however, commits to a thoughtful, impressive, and wholly honest Honduran style of preparing and presenting food. Absolutely incredible. If I could carry this entire experience- food, setting, and staff- to London, the Bay, NYC or anywhere else, it would certainly place among the top upcoming restaurants.Its a wonderfule expirence its better to go with friends or family to share food becuse at your own is kinda too much.Unique and amazing experience.Delicious food that you can only eat there.Wonderful service.For sure the best food we ate in Tegucigalpa.Very unique experience.
