At 2:38 pm, they simply informed me that they had run out of dried meat. The main ingredient in the most famous dish of this simple restaurant ran out on a Sunday. They are open until 5 pm. I think it's incredible that a restaurant would inform me that they will no longer serve a dish due to a lack of ingredients! What a shame. It's not worth the risk of coming here and not having the dish you came to eat.
Cozy place and 1000% service! Cold beerOur order was Mal’ Asado with white rice and green beansPoqueca com acaca de leite - moqueca baked in foil. For dessert, Aridan’s milk and bean pudding with caramel sauce.
I felt like I was at the McDonald's of Bahian food. We ordered a portion of acarajé that arrived in 3 seconds, cold. In other words, it was already prepared. Then we ordered a shrimp moqueca and all the sides were cold too. They didn't even bother to put it in the microwave for a minute. The restaurant was empty, I couldn't understand the rushed service, much less the fact that they served cold food.
Poqueca is very good. I recommend it.
Rating 1000!!! Perfect food!!! Very polite and friendly staff!!! Beautiful place!!!!!! Very well prepared for those with food intolerances. I'm a fan!!!!
Wonderful!!! Nice place, excellent service and exceptional food. It was worth having lunch here and enjoying the Bahian delights
This restaurant provided us with a complete experience in every way: service, atmosphere and flavor. They offer three vegetarian main course options on the menu. The jackfruit hearts of palm were out of stock that day, but they did have a plantain moqueca that was simply perfect. From the cashew juice, which was very tasty, to the dessert, everything was impeccable. I definitely recommend it!
Very tasty food, perfect dish, I loved it
While passing through Salvador, we had lunch at Dona Mariquita to try the famous Moqueca de Feijão. The seasoning was delicious, the pepper was good… just the right amount of flavor and spiciness. If the banana had been cooked and fresh, it would have been perfect. But it was still worth it, it was worth it!
We arrived early. The restaurant wasn't even open yet. We were kindly invited to come in and wait inside while the staff finished their lunch. The place is clean, pleasant and welcoming. We were told that the acarajé dumplings would take a while to be ready, as they were still preparing the dough. Even if it had taken two hours to prepare (we waited about 20 minutes), it would still have been worth it.When I tasted the acarajé and the shrimp moqueca, that is, when the food entered my mouth and touched my taste buds, my brain was immediately invaded by a tsunami of endorphins, dopamines, oxytocins and many other "ines" still unknown to science. The pepper served is not only tasty. It is incredibly powerful. Moderation is not enough. You have to be humble to appreciate it. Even Lampião would feel fragile and defenseless when faced with that spice. I believe that only with the courage and resilience of Zumbi and Queen Ginga could we face it head on.The one who left this incredible gastronomic experience disoriented was my "belly", for having unconditionally surrendered to worldly pleasures and succumbed to the "sin" of gluttony. This cuisine helps to explain how many sources the great Jorge Amado drew on to find inspiration and produce his literary work, which is so celebrated around the world.Thank you, Universe, for having bequeathed to us, after such intense and time-consuming work, such a privileged piece of land called the Northeast. Long live the matriarch of this region, Bahia.I return to my beloved Ceará carrying an incredible emotional memory in my luggage. With the certainty that I will return. Like a good son who returns home. After all, who can resist the seasoning of the food of "mother", "grandmother", "great-grandmother"... in short, of these matriarchs.
