Beautiful restaurant. Cocktails were delicious, food was excellent.
I visited El Mundo to celebrate my birthday, encouraged by the positive reviews from other vegans, and it was definitely an experience.Finding parking can be tricky, as the place is on a busy thoroughfare and there aren't always spaces available. Although Google says they open at 5:00 p.m., we arrived at 5:45 p.m. and they still hadn't opened (they open until 6:00 p.m.), so we had to wait a while in the drizzle. Upon entering, the access may seem a bit unsafe at first, as the building is empty and the staircase is dimly lit, but once inside, the atmosphere changes completely: it's calm, welcoming, and has a very special mystical touch.I was hoping to experience the full experience I'd seen on social media, such as receiving a tarot card to choose our appetizer, but since we were the first to arrive, it didn't apply, and several dishes on the menu weren't available at that time.Even so, what we tried was delicious: hibiscus tacos, sopecitos as a starter, a coconut curry soup, a light-crust pizza, and a brownie for dessert. The wait was around 20–25 minutes per dish, as everything is freshly prepared, which is appreciated although it requires patience. At the end of the evening, Vivi—who provided impeccable service—offered us a complimentary Espadín mezcal for our wait, a very kind gesture that capped off the evening with warmth.Overall, I give it a 4.5 out of 5 stars. I would love to return with more people and experience the full menu at its best. Without a doubt, it's a space with a lot of potential and a unique offering for those looking for a vegan dinner with purpose and style.
Food is amazing! Different! Fine dining and tasty! Best ever dessert!! Fennel ice cream on rhubarb syrup with sour cream and a crispy croissant! Never tasted anything like that. If you are a foodie you have to come here! I am blown away! Great service from waitress Viviana! Kudos to the chef Rebecca! Personal favourites were the watermelon tartar and the Polenta and that artichoke with capris “sauce”. Wow!
If you're looking for the best vegan food option in Mexico City, El Mundo is the place to go. Custom mocktails with food. Watermelon sashimi, among other dishes, will leave you wanting to come back the next day to try the other delicacies on the menu. The desserts are top-notch. 1000% recommended.
A great concept, one of a kind. The service is incredible and the food is very good, all very gourmet. The mushroom selection is top-notch. I loved it for going there to romance and dance at the same time. Ha. Because the music is a gem if you like deep house or similar music.
Beautiful atmosphere, friendly service and the food was a vegan's dream! Cocktails were delicious too. Highly recommend.
Please do not miss this restaurant! Rebecca has built a magical place with absolutely incredible food. Every dish was special and unique. The watermelon tartar will blow your mind. The cocktails are playful and delicious and the homage to tarot throughout creates a wonderful experience. Whether you are vegan or not, it needs to be on your list! Seriously, do not sleep on this restaurant, it’s an all around treat!
Watermelon tartar is truly unique and tasty!
Great atmosphere but terribly slow service - it was good but nothing special! Excellent cocktails and fabulous bartender!
