Absolutely disappointing. The food was well presented, but none of the dishes appealed to us. A clear example of the poor conception of so-called "haute cuisine." The service was constantly rushing us, preventing us from enjoying the food. Extremely expensive for the product offered. Not recommended at all.
Original concept, terrible food. Flavors blended together for no reason, terrible service, rushed us to leave, and high prices. I don't recommend it.
The restaurant is cozy and pays homage to indigenous culture. The food was absolutely delicious, but the most important thing, is the experience. It is a huge opportunity to learn and understand Amazonian culture and how our land is deeply connected with the Amazon rainforest. They respect the natural cycles of the environment and promote Amazon conservation.
Definitely an experience worth having. You leave here with a deep understanding and respect for the Amazonian food. Be ready to be amazed and enjoy all the flavour combinations. Diego had a very good insight on the food and took his time taking us on a journey through the Amazon forest. Will definitely be back here in the future. 😊
Super special experience with food from the Amazon
Wow. Amazing experience of food, culture and art. This is truly unique experience where you get to eat foods you may not normally eat and have them prepaired and displayed in such a fantastic way. Go with an open mind and Heart and trust the chef as he leads you on a journey of the Amazon.
The food is average, but the service is poor, and they're scammers. When we arrived, they offered us a "welcome ritual." Throughout the evening, they offered us more "rituals" before each course, without ever mentioning that they had a charge. These rituals had little to do with Amazonian cultures. I'm no anthropologist, but I don't see any connection between talking about "chakras" and "balancing dharma" (Hindu concepts) and indigenous cultures in the Americas. When the bill arrived, it turned out they had charged completely exorbitant prices for each ritual. They obviously saw me as a foreigner or a fool and decided to take advantage. Medellín is a wonderful city full of decent, honest people, and it's a shame to see dishonest people taking advantage of tourists and people in general. I would recommend not going to this place because they'll probably try to rob you too.
fun restaurant, tasting menu is great and you learn about the food and the jungle ecosystem
This was the most unique experience of the whole Colombia. From the presentation of the plates, the combination of the ingredients, to the amazing service and ideal pairing selection, we enjoyed every minute we spent in La Chagra. You can feel the amount of study and love curated in each of the multiple step dinner. It’s a must do in Medellin!
This was the most unique dining experience I have ever had! We had the 11 course meal and our minds were literally blown. The amount of attention and detail that went into not only the food, but the decoration and presentation of each dish was unparalleled. My wife and I were in awe with every new course that came out - unique plates, colorful powders decorating the side of the dish, I could go on forever. The flavors of the food were amazing. My wife and I loved each dish more than the previous. This restaurant somehow managed to spin “different” into “delicious”. We will definitely be back every time we go to Medellin!
