Excellent place to eat and enjoy with family.

The staff was knowledgeable about the menu.

It's a very traditional place that offers Yucatecan food, very touristy. The day I went, there was trova music playing, and they livened up the place with their music. The prices are high, but the service was very good, with the waiter being very attentive and delivering the food without waiting too long.

Despite the numerous negative comments, I went today to give the manager one of his 53-year-old menus for his archives to recommend. I suddenly found it in my box of memories from the US. He wasn't there. The waiter wasn't even interested when I showed it to him! I still ordered the cochinita pibil, thinking it would probably be the only dish I couldn't fault, since Los Almendros is, or rather, was a Mérida institution for many decades, and... I was wrong! The worst I've ever had. Not cheap at all, and it only comes with some not-so-hot tortillas. We ordered refried beans, and a small plate arrived, the beans were cold, with no more than 8 tortilla chips, and they charged 88 pesos for those damn refried black beans. I will always have memories of something beautiful there 53 years ago. What a shame. From the best to the worst. Please don't visit. There are many more Yucatecan restaurants in this beautiful city, and all much better. I assure you. I didn't take any photos. I just took some good, tasty photos to recommend.

The sauce they prepare for you to your liking is delicious.

A perfect setting for enjoying a family lunch. The value for money is excellent, and all their products are of the highest quality. The service is always excellent. As a bonus, they have live trova music every weekend. A definite must-visit if you visit the beautiful state capital.
