Absolutely delish! The smoked meat in the cuban sandwich was incredible! Will be coming back and telling my friends!!
This is my second time visiting and it is excellent in every way. I liked the service and kindness of the waiters. I also noticed that people bring their loved ones to try the food.
The Cuban cake, a delight
A Hidden Cuban Gem Just Outside Mérida’s Centro A Must-Visit!If you’ve never tried Cuban food before, this is the place to start. Tucked just outside of Mérida’s Centro, this fantastic Cuban restaurant is one of those rare gems that immediately transports you to the Caribbean, not just with its bold, soulful flavors, but with its warm hospitality and family-run charm.I first visited this spot two years ago and couldn’t forget the Cuban Sandwich and the Tableta sampler platter. Both were unforgettable. But this time, we decided to dive into the main dishes and I’m so glad we did.The first night started with some of their refreshing drinks: classic Cuban rum mojitos, a daiquiri made with Cuban rum, and their famous mint limeade frappe. All were on point, cool, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. Then came the food. We couldn’t resist ordering the Cuban sandwich and Tableta again, but also added the Asado de Puerco. Wow. Juicy, pan-fried pork infused with mojo sauce, served with perfectly cooked white rice, fresh black beans, sweet plantains, and soup. It honestly took me back to my aunt’s kitchen. The smell, the taste… pure nostalgia. We were so impressed that we came back a few days later. This time we had the Ropa Vieja, slow-cooked shredded beef in a rich blend of spices, and again, every element of the dish, from the sides to the presentation, was flawless. Just to push it further, we also ordered the Torta de Ropa Vieja, which came with house-made French fries dusted in flavorful spices. Another hit. What really sets this place apart, besides the food, is the experience. The restaurant is impeccably clean, the menu is small and focused (no endless pages of options), and the service is impeccable. The husband-and-wife team runs the whole place. He’s in the kitchen creating magic, and she’s out front making sure you’re enjoying every bite. Their attentiveness and love for what they do is obvious from the moment you walk in.I even posted a picture of them because they deserve all the recognition. This place doesn’t just serve food, it serves joy.Final verdict: Whether you’re a Cuban cuisine aficionado or a first-timer, visit with an open mind and a hungry heart. You will not leave disappointed.
Highly recommended!!! We had the Cubano, fries, and cheese pizza. It was very good. The service was great and the chef/owner was super welcoming. FIVE STARS!! ⭐️
The name says it all; it truly is "mas que rico."
Excellent place! I tried the Cuban sandwich and the ropa vieja sandwich, and both were simply delicious. The mojito was the cherry on top, perfectly prepared and refreshing; I loved it. The service was also excellent; the person who served us was super friendly and attentive. I really wanted to go back and try the two-course menu, which sounded spectacular. I'll definitely be back soon.
The Cuban food was delicious, and the service made me feel right at home. They were super friendly.
