Some of the best food i had in mexico city. Everything was a 10/10. Playlist was a vibe. Chef came by and talk to our table, very dope man. Cant wait to come by to try more menu foods.

We loved coming to Masala y Maíz. The service was above excellent: everyone at the restaurant was just happy to be there, and the servers truly showed their passion when describing the food. We ordered tons of food and the food immediately fit the fusion from the getgo. There wasn’t one dish that we confidently say was one cuisine, and that’s exactly the point. The food was very tasty, definitely get the shrimp and the chicken. We loved what was done with the atmosphere and vibe and would definitely come back.

Good food, but would never go back - they locked the front door with 50+ guests inside, and it took several minutes to find someone to open it. Absolutely no concern for safety. They play music 10x the normal volume while the servers quietly mumble. It’s a shame the food is good because everything else is awful

I'm incredibly frustrated with my recent visit to Masala y Maiz. I made the mistake of reading all the glowing reviews before my trip to Mexico City, and by the time I saw the consistent theme of negativity in the one-star reviews, it was too late to cancel my reservation. Unfortunately, we had to go, and every single one of those negative reviews proved to be accurate. The most glaring issue was our server’s obsession with tip. It felt like our waiter calculated the potential tip based on our order. We experienced the exact behavior described in other reviews: if you don't order enough food, they become visibly offended. It felt less like dining and more like a transaction where we were being judged for not spending enough. Our waiter's behavior was completely disrespectful. He brought out one of our dishes, a quesadilla, and literally just set it down with a dismissive, "Okay, well, this is a quesadilla, you see it right?" There was no polite interaction, just a terse statement. After that, he was practically nonexistent. Always available to check in at the table next to us. We clearly stated we wanted to order more drinks, but he never came back to check on us or take our order. It was a completely rude and disrespectful experience from start to finish. I would not recommend Masala y Maiz to anyone.

Pretty good food, I loved the shrimp, the chicken, and a good selection of wines.

Terrible service and very negative comments from the waiter regarding the treatment given by the Manager.

This dining experience was very different and meant more than the food. As for the food; the chai/coffee cocktail was quite interesting and different, loved the peanuts in rasam (also great idea!!), enjoyed the samosas but the show stopper was the fish. Really good!! The only thing we were a bit disappointed with was the paneer - the sauce was fantastic but the paneer seemed a bit over seasoned but under flavoured. Try and ask to sit inside the main area for a better experience
