Everything was delicious and the non-alcoholic beer was super cool.
Everything is delicious
Good food and service. Waiting two hours seems excessive. If I arrive early, everything's cool, but I won't wait two hours ever again.
Really fresh ceviche. Everything we ordered was really tasty including non ceviche items like the grilled prawns and the tacos. The highlight for me was the dessert. They had an amazing passion fruit ice cream.
I don't really get the attraction of this place. It's certainly trendy and cool, very much something you would find in New York, but the food is really average. Lots of raw fish overcomplicated with heavy and thick sauces.
We had tried to go to Mi Compa Chava on several occasions, but there was always a line that seemed endless. Finally, one day we arrived early and the place was still empty.I completely understand people's excitement about Mariscos El Chava: it's a place with beautifully prepared dishes, fresh seafood, and delicious sauces. The atmosphere transports you and makes you feel like you're on the coast; I think its success lies in the freshness of the ingredients and the authentic personality of the place.I recommend going in a group of at least four people, as the dishes are large and it's worth ordering several things to share and try more flavors. We ordered the black shrimp aguachile, the tripón ceviche, and, for dessert, pitaya ice cream. Everything was delicious, but my favorite was the aguachile.Something that really caught my attention was that there were many tables with foreigners who seemed bewildered by the food; Mexican seafood can seem exotic to those unfamiliar with it, due to its textures, intense flavors, and spiciness. We saw several tables leave their dishes almost untouched after inspecting and tasting them with obvious confusion. In contrast, the tables with Mexicans were happy and enjoying every bite. The restaurant also has a small souvenir shop where you can buy their sauces, stickers, posters, t-shirts, and more. After trying it, I don't think it's worth waiting in line for an hour, but if you're passing by and it's not crowded, it's definitely worth a try.
I find it expensive for what they offer. Gentrified. There are long lines to get in. The food is delicious. Too noisy.
