We hadn't been here for over a year, so we wanted to see how it was. They've invested a lot in the space, and that's great, but what's becoming obsolete is the service method. The service has been poor for the past five years and is always full. We arrived at 11:30 p.m. on a Monday. The place was 60% full. They still have the same problem: the service process is very poor, and it's not the waitresses, it's the management. Please update your service method. It's not that the waitresses are bad, it's that they're so overworked that they don't have a chance to serve anyone properly, and that's been going on for years. There are always only a few waitresses, and they're assigned very large areas. There are no pick-ups, no radios to improve communication, and there's not even a manager watching. They take orders, pick up the pick-ups, clean tables, and collect the money. It's just them running around, getting things done as best they can. We saw at most three waitresses, some of them even going as far as the bar, sweaty and stressed, and the place was starting to fill up. When we got our paycheck, it took a whopping 15 minutes from the time we ordered to the time we got paid... The kitchen service is efficient at that time. We ordered a special aguachile, it didn't have tripe. We mentioned it, and they asked if we wanted an extra portion of something because they didn't have any. The annoying thing about the situation was that they didn't tell us at the beginning until we realized... We ordered a fish tostada and a shrimp and octopus tostada. The tostadas were chewy. My husband, a seafood lover from Sinaloa, said it was a cardinal sin for his tostada to be like that... It's not like that, and the shrimp tostada was only shrimp, but they marked it with octopus. We arrived asking for black models, but they didn't have any... We ordered a bucket of Victoria and had to open them ourselves with a fork. For the love of God, put a bottle opener in the bucket or something. Because the waitresses can't keep opening the beers because they're so busy, give them a strike... Give them a raise or something... I ordered an octopus taco, I clarified twice that it was octopus, they brought me a shrimp one. We're flexible. I saw her running around the restaurant and didn't want to act like a clown anymore. I ate it and then ordered an octopus one, which was delicious. The aguachile is still delicious; it's the star of the place. But honestly, there are places with better service, less crowded places to go, and good seafood. We weren't left wanting more; we'll go back next year to see how they're doing... Attached is a photo of the shrimp tostada with octopus, without octopus, and the bill.
Good food, terrible service, they should have more attentive staff.
The food was good, some things were too salty, like the shrimp cocktail, which was inedible, but the worst part was the waitress felt like she was doing us a favor. She had short, bleached hair and tattoos. She didn't ask us if we wanted anything else, we had to chase her down to ask for things. She was very ugly and rude. I've always said, "If you don't like your job, change it for something you like, don't be in a bad mood serving customers."
