When making a reservation, they give you many warnings about the dress code, which makes you think the place is extraordinary and exclusive. However, they require the dress code, but they don't have air conditioning in Cartagena! If it's not a breezy terrace, no one wants to be confined in Cartagena in a restaurant with only fans, especially if you're paying an average of $50 per person. Very disappointing. There's a lot of music and dancers, but they'd be better off investing in electricity to maintain a pleasant atmosphere inside.The heat is unbearable, and they only have air conditioning at the entrance. They have very low-power fans at the tables.It's beautiful when you walk in, but we got put into an area through the back where a) it was too dimly lit and b) it was so hot!! We did not get to sit in the space where the live music is played. Although the food was good (and HUGE), the service was not good. We constantly asked for water that was never received. Was not impressed given this restaurant is expensive compared to the rest of cartgena.We were very well attended to, I mentioned in my reservation that it was our 20th wedding anniversary, and they took care to remember and put a celebratory sign on the table, good food and great service...Good food ! I did not read the reviews until after my visit and I was intrigued by some of the negativity. Candé was recommended by our tour guide. We made a reservation to be safe and it was a good idea. Quite a few people arrive at the same time for dinner. We did not realize that there was a dress code until the party ahead of us caused a traffic jam because the men were wearing flip flops. My husband was dressed business casual but I was definitely more athletic wear. No one made me feel out of place. Everyone was super friendly. If sitting upstairs was a punishment, we did not think so. We enjoyed the night air and fans. The downstairs did not feel any cooler when we were waiting at the bar. We enjoyed the atmosphere of the balcony. The fan was a plus, I carried my own everywhere. The night sky, live entertainment - both music and dancing, friendly and attentive staff, and tasty food made the evening delightful. If the staff’s intention was to rush us off by being attentive, we did not feel that way at all. It was nice to have the wine glass refilled and to not have to search for someone to ask for something. Everything was done with a smile. Any menu questions were answered and we had a good recommendation for dessert. Where we live, we know seafood. We had the Mariscos Barú and it was excellent. We also had the Muelitas de Jaiba for an appetizer. They reminded us of home. The dishes are Insta worthy but are very flavorful. For desert, we shared the Coconut Pie With Corozo Ice Cream. We would definitely go back again and highly recommend.
