Wonderful haute cuisine!!
Everything was perfect! From the online booking to the post-booking service, arrival, and service during your stay. Everything was PERFECT!!
10/10 experience! Nice ambience, chic interior and unique food/cocktail mixes. What made it made more special were the staff, especially Raphaela who was very professional and attentive.
Excellent experience, with Rafaela giving us her full attention and perfect dishes. One of the best experiences I've ever had.
I was looking for a restaurant with excellent food in Belo Horizonte to celebrate my wedding anniversary, and I hadn't heard of Glouton. I live abroad and I've only gone out to restaurants with typical Glouton-style food. But the food is top-notch and the prices are average...so I was very disappointed!!!I found the overall atmosphere pleasant, the staff polite but unnatural. The lighting could definitely be improved. As for the food, it's absolutely not worth the price. My appetizer was great (polenta with okra), but the main course was a disappointment: a SUPER salty oxtail! And average...nothing special. My husband ordered an appetizer that tasted like it had barbecue sauce on it, it was so strong and heavy...his main course was an octopus dish with a super cloying cauliflower base (too much cream...and I love cream in food). But the worst of all were the desserts: mine was "strawberry pavê." It was, literally: a few pieces of strawberry, a tiny bit (like a level tablespoon) of whipped cream, and a super tart strawberry ice cream (I don't like ice cream for dessert and I don't like tart, that's why I chose a trifle!!!). I don't like this idea of saying it's one thing and then inventing something completely different that has nothing to do with it.Conclusion: It's not that the restaurant is bad, but for the price they charge, it should be perfect, and they're far from it, in my opinion... super expensive for what it is!! Better to spend your money at a good bar in Belo Horizonte, where the food will be much better and the price will be fairer.
I think our expectations were too high, and we ended up disappointed. The restaurant was good, but far from impressive. It should have been much better, considering the price and apparent sophistication. My wife and I walked in just before opening. There were valets at the door, accepting cars, but no one greeted us (pedestrians) and explained that the restaurant would open in a few minutes. Offering us water while we waited would have been nice. We tried to enter, but the door was locked. A server came to the door and politely informed us that they would open shortly. I think the service, overall, could have been less obsequious and more natural.I only saw the sidewalk and the front dining room. The sidewalk is located on a block that looks like a showcase of empty glamour. The street is tree-lined and pleasant, however. The dining room had a nice appearance, with large windows and comfortable tables. I was surprised that the lighting, which I consider very important, was poorly planned and failed to create a pleasant ambiance at each table. The food was great but also mediocre. My appetizer of crispy cornmeal, okra, and corn was excellent. The main course was overcooked octopus, and the cauliflower base was heavy. Dessert was OK but had too much dulce de leche. I loved the opportunity to try a Sauvignon Blanc from Minas Gerais. I enjoyed drinking it the way I enjoy an unaged cachaça—more natural and vibrant! If the food had been excellent, or the service more natural, I could have overlooked the provincialism around me.
Finally came to this place after a whole year wanting to come. (I’m Mexican) so you can imagine the travel…. I saw this place on one of Anothony Bourdain’s episodes and I knew I wanted to come an experience it. Hands down! It’s delicious, the atmosphere, the people, the food and geez… that creme brûlée. 1000/10. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants to experience a francominero cuisine. Regarding the price… I found it it be affordable considering the level of service and quality. We paid $86 dls for all you see in the pictures I’m sharing. Would be coming back!
Great experience and very pleasant atmosphere, I want to especially thank Rafaella (metri) and Laudimar who served me with unique excellence and contributed to this moment!
