My stay in Cartagena was only six days, and unfortunately, not all the restaurants I visited were good. I'm from a country with internationally renowned cuisine, Mexico, so my palate is demanding. La Olla Cartagenera was the only restaurant I visited that truly lived up to Colombian pride. It had an extraordinary atmosphere. It's a very beautiful restaurant with delicious food and surprisingly fast service. The waitress was incredibly kind. I'm sorry I don't remember her name (but she was a very thin, short, black woman). The rest of the staff was also very friendly. Highly recommended.

Excellent food and service!!

My husband and I came here a little over a year ago and were so impressed, we came back again. However, this time we were disappointed. We ordered the same dishes as our first visit (posta cartagenera and sancocho de sierra). In the sancocho, the plantain tasted like vinegar, the yam was hard, and the portion was very small. The posta's flavor is the same, but the portion has also been significantly reduced. It's a shame they keep raising the prices and not maintaining the quality of the food!

We ordered stewed snapper and were served fried. And despite our complaints, there was no compensation... not even a dessert as compensation. The other dish was oversalted.

The place is very cozy, with live music. The service of the waiter who greeted us was excellent. Unfortunately, I later asked for an extra plate, and the waitress I asked for it didn't bring it; I had to ask another waitress for it. I then asked another waitress (who obviously wasn't a beginner) for an extra juice, and it never arrived. I also didn't find the food as flavorful as it does at other seafood restaurants in Cartagena.

Our favorite restaurant while in Cartagena. We actually canceled reservations for another restaurant in the walled city so we could eat here again.
