A two-hour wait. Yes, you read that right. And that, even in São Paulo, even for the most patient of diners, is a considerable obstacle. It's not just the time itself, it's the lack of infrastructure to handle the demand. This is the reality at Aska, one of the busiest ramen restaurants in the city. If the space were larger and the line moved more quickly, this review would end up with five stars. But the restaurant stumbles precisely on what should be the basics: welcoming the public who, rightly, come seeking fame. And for a moment, you wonder if it's really worth it. The answer, fortunately, comes in liquid, hot, and impeccable form. Was it the best ramen and gyoza experience of my life? Yes. Was it the best value for money? Yes. The ramen arrives steaming, with a rich, deep broth, dense as it should be, and balanced like few others. The noodles have texture, the pork has presence, and the whole thing intertwines with a rare harmony. The regular size is more than enough. The gyoza is crispy where it needs to be, juicy on the inside, and without any trace of excessive fat or careless preparation. And the price, considering the quality, even seems reasonable. In short: Aska is worth a visit. Come with time, go slowly, and be hungry. The reward won't disappoint. But while the restaurant doesn't grow along with its reputation, it's clear that excellence on the plate doesn't always come with a comfortable wait. And that, unfortunately, still counts.
There is a queue to put your name on the waiting list, it takes a while but it is well organized and with the online queue you can do other things until you are called, the food is very good and very well served.
Ramen with the best cost-benefit in SP
My friend and I went, and we had excellent service. The food arrived quickly, and the staff were lovely. However, I had to wait two hours in line. The food was good, but nothing special; it wasn't worth the wait. At least the ramen wasn't expensive! The gyoza was delicious and was the only dish that really saved the day. The Coca-Cola came in a glass bottle, and, I don't know, I liked that… it seems to make the soda taste better, you know? I liked the restaurant, but I wouldn't return because of the wait and the food—it's not worth it.
My humble impression of Aska: a 2.5-hour line, high expectations—after all, everyone swears it's the best ramen in the universe. And there I was, convinced I was about to experience a gastronomic epiphany. But... it was X. Gyoza was okay, ramen was dull. I left wondering if I'd gone to the right restaurant or if my taste buds hadn't been warned about its reputation.
Wonderful experience! Food full of flavor and attention to detail. Gyoza was a 1000. It was worth every second of the wait.
It's really good there, it's perfect for relaxing and it has a wonderful view.
