The oldest restaurant still in operation in Brazil. A very chic restaurant, it contrasts with the ambiance of old Recife, which, despite being beautiful, is abandoned, with many homeless people. Everything is very special, from the reception, the service, the furniture, and the antique tables with matching cutlery. The chef's food is impeccable. We had Brazilian cod and lamb in Madeira sauce. Well-served and of excellent quality. The menu is varied, with meals ranging from R$60.00 to R$100.00 per dish. Drinks are also varied, with a diverse wine and beer list. If you're in Recife, it's definitely worth checking out!

A must-try for tourists in Recife or for those who simply enjoy good food with a delicious touch of history. As if the restaurant's historical appeal weren't enough, the quality and flavor of the food, and the impeccable service make it an unforgettable experience. The cuisine has a strong Portuguese influence, with seafood being the highlight. The codfish fritters, the cod dish that bears the restaurant's name, and the crayfish with herbs are all surefire choices.

It wasn't worth the price, just for the taste. There are better restaurants in Recife.

A very traditional restaurant and a must-see for anyone visiting Recife.The quality of the dishes is excellent and the waiters are very helpful and efficient.The ratatouille served as a couvert was particularly good, as was the dessert of vanilla ice cream, Bricelet cookies and chocolate sauce: delicious! In addition, the steak we ordered was cooked as expected and was very tender.One point that could be improved is the napkins, which were stained (not dirty, but stained from use) and could be replaced, and the curtains, which had stains and a musty smell - we noticed this because we were sitting at a table right next to the curtains.

Wonderful filet au poivre, cooked just right, with well-seasoned Madeira sauce and just the right amount of pepper, as well as super crispy potatoes. I also ordered a Cartola, and without a doubt, it is the best in Recife.
