Excellent gastronomic experience
We arrived at the restaurant on a rainy Tuesday, so it wasn't crowded and we didn't have to wait to get in. We were well received and seated at a good table. The place is pleasant, with beautiful decor, being a modernized version of an Italian cantina. I should mention that the choice of background music doesn't match the place. I suggest something more intimate and less lively (was there some kind of house music playing that day? It's hard to say). Well, let's talk about the food. It's worth mentioning that the menu has a very interesting and varied selection of dishes with fair prices, considering the noticeable quality of the ingredients. As a starter, we ordered truffled arancinis (R$49), which consisted of risotto balls stuffed with cheese, parsley, truffles and eggplant chips. I can say that it was the highlight of the night. Crispy, tasty and accompanied by a delicious sauce, making an excellent combination. For the main courses, we ordered two of the most popular dishes in the restaurant: spaghetti nero de sepia (pasta made with squid ink, sautéed with squid, shrimp and octopus, lemon zest, olive oil, tomato, mixed herbs and bread crumbs - R$89) and filet mignon in mushroom crust (meat and wine sauce, risotto with 3 cheese textures, parmesan foam and crispy cheese - R$79).The dishes were well served in terms of quantity, however, both were too salty. Furthermore, the risotto arrived at room temperature and not hot, which meant that it was almost without the expected creaminess. The filet mignon was very tasty and cooked to perfection. There was no shrimp that day, so they asked us if they could add more squid or octopus instead. I don't know if the lack of such an item influenced the flavor of the dish, but it was still delicious. We didn't order dessert, since the time was already running out.The service was attentive and helpful. We intend to return to the restaurant in the future in the hope that the experience will be more satisfactory.
The atmosphere is very pleasant, the food met our expectations, but there was a bearded waiter who was a kind of maitre d'/waiter who was extremely ignorant and rude. We will probably stop going back to the place because of this professional. We arrived on a Sunday and it was not very busy. That said, we asked for one of the 3 empty tables near the glass. The professional in question immediately refused and rudely informed us that we could only sit inside, since there were only 2 of us. However, right after we sat down, 2 more couples arrived and were immediately allocated to these tables. In case you have any doubts, no! They were not waiting for other people, since we were there for more than an hour. When it was time to pay the bill, he was also rude, completely unprepared, I strongly suggest that we retrain.
Wonderful spot in Belem. Chef Paulo once again delivers, but now with an Italian bend.
