We didn't have a good experience: no hot water, no TV in the room, and no air conditioning control. The staff was very attentive.
There is no hot water, the bathrooms look dirty.
Perfect location. Rooms with all the amenities (I loved the spacious bathrooms). Excellent service and a willingness to help. Affordable prices. Socialtel is the perfect place to meet people (the parties are great).
BEAUTIFUL old colonial building. Loved the courtyard. The service and WiFi were great (best WiFi I had during my whole time in Nica). Location is perfect. Great price. The food was aight. The welcome drink was sublime.
I was visiting a friend who was staying at the hotel and the experience was quite uncomfortable; everything left a lot to be desired.I attended a social event at the hotel. Everything went smoothly until the party got late and I decided to stay overnight. It was at that moment that the security guard, Alex, told me that if I wanted to enter my friend's room, I would have to pay $20, supposedly the price of a dorm bed. He then offered to lower the price to 400 córdobas because, according to him, there were no dorm beds available and the only option was to stay in my friend's room. The payment was made directly in one of the hotel's hallways, near the bathroom, without going through reception, without a receipt, without a guest bracelet, and without any kind of registration. It was just a direct and informal payment. The next day, we realized that this was not the procedure or the actual price, and it was clearly a charge outside the hotel's system.Additionally, I tried to explain that I knew the guest, hoping to clarify the situation and see if it could be handled more officially. Alex began to speak negatively about him, saying he was "checked in" at the hotel and making personal, unnecessary, and completely inappropriate comments. On the other hand, we were initially charged a corkage fee, which we accepted without issue. However, Alex told us it was exclusive to our room when he stopped us. Later, when we spoke with the manager, he explained that the corkage fee applies to the entire hotel. It was clear that the information we received was incorrect from the start. In short, it was an experience that felt disorganized and unprofessional. The charge was completely informal, the treatment was disrespectful, and the information was contradictory. Overall, a situation that does not represent the level of service one would expect. I hope they can better review these types of practices and that the hotel provides better training to its staff so that other visitors don't experience the same thing.
I recently stayed at the Social Tel Hotel (formerly Selina), a place where I'd worked in the past and which I used to hold in high regard. However, the experience this time was disappointing.During the early hours of the morning, around 4:00 a.m., one of my friends who was with us at the party wanted to stay overnight in the room. The security guard, Alex, charged him 400 córdobas in cash, bypassing reception, without a guest bracelet, and in a completely informal manner. This charge took place inside the hotel bathroom, and it can be easily verified on the security cameras. The most sensitive part wasn't the money, but what happened next. When my partner and another friend tried to explain that this person was coming with me, Alex began to speak badly about me in my absence, saying that I "had a record" and that "no one wanted me" at the hotel. Not only was this an inappropriate comment, but it showed a complete lack of professionalism and respect. These types of comments are completely out of place, especially coming from staff who are supposed to ensure the safety and good treatment of guests.Fortunately, I was able to speak later with the manager, Adriana, who was very receptive. I am very grateful that she took the time to listen to what happened. It is sad to see a space that once represented something positive for me be affected by this type of behavior. I hope action is taken to prevent other guests from experiencing similar situations.
I had an excellent experience at this hotel. The facilities were clean and well-maintained, and the location was very convenient. I want to highlight the receptionist's service: he was very friendly, attentive, and professional. His cordial demeanor really made a difference and made me feel welcome from the first moment. My friends and I will definitely return soon.
